Why Brighouse and what is the festival about?

We (with the support of local businesses and Calderdale Council) have come up with, (what most people would think was impossible), fast, flat, closed road courses in the centre of Brighouse.  It’s going to be a great opportunity to get that sought after PB or season’s best without travelling further afield.

The course is flattest in the whole of the UK and Ireland (see comparison chart for further details). It’s a fast, straight course with only 1 small undulation each lap (3 laps repeated course).

Route Description

1k – straight out and back course.
It’s a perfect introduction to allow younger runners or people new to running to have some fun, run with their peers or family and (if they so want) race against the clock.

2k – 2 x 1k lap out and back course.
Want to push yourself that bit further? Maybe your used to 1500m on the track or can remember that from your school days? Think 1500 with an extended finish !! the next step. This is a unique opportunity to run a measured race at this distance.

4K – out and back 3 lap course.
The 4k is a perfect training tool for those looking eventually to step up to a timed 5k race. There are very few (if any) timed road 4k races in the UK, so once again it offers a unique experience and opportunities to run a set distance against the clock.
