Route Descriptions.

Shore Road Race -
The race starts outside the pub and runs down shore road, it takes a left onto Kirkstall Avenue and moves down onto a pathed path. Moving through a quiet housing estate to the main road it moves onto Calderbrook road for a short climb. At the top of the road there is a nice flat stage on a quiet farm country road. It then turns right after the church and then a left down a steep short road to Todmorden Road. Keeping to the right there is a long slightly declined road into the centre of Littleborough (approx. 1 mile). Turning left at the Choclate box shop and heading towards the park, running past Littleborough CC and across the road up Whalley Avenue before returning on the start route.  Great route, a challenging but fully runnable road race.

Watergrove Reservoir Trail Race - Starting from the pub we go straight onto the trails on Pedler Brow Lane taking in a good steady climb. Moving along Wardle fold and up another steady climb to Watergrove Reservoir. This then takes you round a fast flat path around the reservoir, moving onto a steady climb on a great track in the middle of the fells. This then turns into a fast downhill finish on a track that eventually turns into the cobbled path to the finish.

Sheep Fell Over ….. (Fell Race) - Starting from outside the pub you run up the cobbles past the farms and onto the fell track. This winding visible path takes you through the gate and onto a tough steady climb to the sheep fold. Go around the sheepfold and then hurtle down the amazing 1.5 mile descent.

Great little fell race.
Ideal first fell race.
Great training and challenge for those hardened fell runners.

*Standard FRA regulations apply regarding kit. Waterproof jacket, whistle, map, compass must be carried unless the weather is fine. The race organiser will let runners know on the day. Assume that it must be carried to avoid disappointment.

*FRA entry form must be completed and handed in before the race, some will be made available at the race, but save time and complete it beforehand if you can.

Charity information link

Each year I will donate a percentage of my profits to a different charity.  This year in honour of my Grandma (Joan Mary Lloyd) I am donating to Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.  This is a very worthy charity and offers amazing facilities and respite for both patients and families dealing with Cancer and the effects of the illness.

Collection buckets may also be placed at the different events to ask for further loose change to help with their funds.
