Stunning Greenhead Park

Huddersfield 5k Park Series are new weekly 5k races run in July at the stunning Greenhead Park. The popular weekend parkrun regularly has 600 plus runners, so it’s the perfect venue to organise an accurately measured, UKA licensed, live chip timed 5k event series. The park itself is very easy to get to via the M62, or by bus or rail from all areas of the North West.

The Route is different than the weekend parkrun and contains fewer bends, twist and turns and for this reason we feel that the times will be much faster.

The races can be entered individually or you can enter all 4 races in the series (via the Series entry option). If you miss the series entry, then simply enter 3 from 4 of the races to qualify for the league. There are various prize options for both places and improvers in the league and superb individual and team prizes each race.

The event is completely traffic free, measured course and UKA insured!

Each lap will be timed using our live chip timing system that allows you to see your split, average and Gun and Net time for the race.

All pre-entry prices include Free PayPal booking fee. However, an additional fee will occur for payments that do not use this method!

Park Map

The Route starts by the pavilion café and heads down the hill before taking on a very small rise to the upper monument platform. Here you run on the flat before descending heading down hill to the small pond. Then you circle to the right of the pond continuing downhill to the lower exit of the park. Now you come back along the parallel path to re-join the wide straight path, eventually leading you to skirt alongside the larger pond. Now you have a long steady climb to the top end of the park, eventually circling around the top side of the park to complete the loop and move on the next lap down hill. Complete this a further 2 times collecting your lap splits (passing over the timing mats) along the way till you get to the finish just before where you started. We expect the course to be reasonably quick as although there are some slightly uphill sections, there are some fast downhill and flat sections also.

There are lots of on-street parking nearby and the public transport links are superb.
