Runners can compete from 11 years upwards in the 5k Race.

REGISTRATION FOR FUN RUN 8:45-9:20am and 5K 9:20 – 10:35am.

Many of us may have enjoyed a stroll round the scenic lake with a family or friend and enjoyed the flat surfaces, easy walking and views it offers.  So when I was looking for a flat 5k with a memorable route I looked no further than Hollingworth Lake.

Runnable for all ability levels. Fast, flat, scenic and electronically timed 5k and Fun Run. UKA licence pending and Course Measurement distance certified race.

The Route. The race starts at Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre in the bottom car park.   It comes up the car park and travels right onto the road passing the Wine Press (the old Fishermans Pub). It then turns left onto the road and then the path until it reaches the entrance of the Beach car park. Here it does a small loop up and around Milnrow road, cutting back down Milbury Drive.   Then its free flat running on a wide track around Hollingworth Lake that eventually joins the concrete path past the café. The lake path then turns left to join Rakewood Road and leads to a long run back to the Visitor Centre to finish.

Fun Run:

Prizes for fastest boy and girl in U8 (must be accompanied by an adult),U10,U12,U14,U16.

 Main Race:

• Vast array of spot prizes.
• Usual age category prizes.
• Prizes for the first 3 men and women.
• Team prize for fastest men’s and women’s club team (3 to count).
